Friday July 26 Best Sports Betting Picks & Predictions For MLB 7/26/2024 Games

The start of the Olympics means several sports are on a break, so finding value takes a little more work than usual. But there are still several great betting options available if you know where to look.

Here are our best bets for July 26.

Cleveland Guardians vs. Philadelphia Phillies

Ben Lively has been remarkably consistent over his past six starts for Cleveland. In those six games, he’s pitched no more than six innings and has pitched into the fifth inning every time. Even though Lively has seen his team lose its past two games where he started, he’s certainly not the reason for the setbacks.

The Phillies fit Lively’s profile well because they’re a late-innings team. Philadephia hasn’t scored more than two runs in the first five innings in any of its past five games. The Phils put up runs after they’ve seen a pitcher two or three times or get into the bullpen, but they tend to have problems when facing starting pitchers.

With the Phillies being night owls and Lively coming off several strong showings, going over 16.5 outs makes a sensible play.

Hartford Athletic vs. Phoenix Rising

Maybe it’s the heat that’s making a difference for Phoenix’s defense at home. For whatever reason, Rising’s defense doesn’t travel well at all. Most teams are fortunate to get out of Phoenix with more than one goal to their name (Pittsburgh is the only team in nine USL matches to score more than once at Phoenix), but that absolutely doesn’t hold when Phoenix goes traveling.

Phoenix has conceded eight times in its past three road matches, and Rising has failed to win in six consecutive USL away matches. Things aren’t likely to get better at Hartford, which has been much sharper at home. The Latics have lost eight in a row on the road, but they’ve taken points in four of their past five matches at home. By taking the double chance, you don’t need Hartford to win the match. A draw will be good enough, and there’s a good chance that’s where this match ends up.

Colorado Springs Switchbacks vs. Las Vegas Lights

Even though Vegas comes in unbeaten in its past eight matches, there’s reason to believe that ends here. Colorado Springs has never been a friendly place for the Lights, as they’ve lost three of their four visits to Weidner Field. All three defeats have come via shutout, including each of their past two visits.

The Switchbacks have been dynamite on their home pitch as of late.

They’ve now won six consecutive matches at Weidner Field, four of which have come to nil. Their past two home matches were 1-0 victories over Tulsa and Monterey Bay, and they’ve won by that exact scoreline in three of their past four home matches.

Vegas hasn’t been a high-scoring team for much of the season. The Lights have scored one goal or fewer in five of their past nine matches, including three of their past four away fixtures. They played out a 3-3 draw with Colorado Springs at home earlier this year, but the Lights won’t have attacker Edison Azcona for this match because he’s playing in the Olympics. With him out of action, Vegas’ attack becomes far less effective.
